Nandigama (Telugu: నందిగామ) is one of the Big Towns and a Mandal in Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh, India. Nandigama is famous for the temples which had a great history for years. The mukkoti ekadasi is celebrated every year grandly in Nandigama.
This is a historical place with many places to see: Pallagirigattu, Sivalayam, Ramalayam, Raithupet. These places have historical importance, where Sri krishna devaraya had kept special interest in developing these places.

Geography
Nandigama is located 48 km north of Vijayawada and 46 km east of Kodada. The river Muneru flows in the outer part of the city. The river has agricultural fields on both sides. Nandigama has four seasons; Summer is the longest extending from March to July. Temperatures reach 49 degrees in mid May.

Nandigama is a mandal covering of many villages under its administration. There are approximately 20 villages under the Nandigama Mandal.All admisnistrative work is done in Nandigama. Nandigama has One Police station Containing Traffic division Under One DSP and One Circle Inspector. MRO office,MDO office,Sessions Court,Government Hospital, colleges, schools and many administrative offices that represent to the district head quarters-Machilipatnam. The main profession of the people in nandigama is agriculture.

For more than one decade K.V.R. College, Nandigama is producing several graduates and also post graduates in Computer Science. Recently several other private colleges are also offering Computer Science. Engineering colleges established in this region are also producing Technically qualified in both B.Tech and MCA.
Today in the field of Information Technology one can find many professionals from this region.
Transport
Air
The nearest airport is at Gannavaram and takes about 2 hours from there to Nandigama by road. Two flights, one from hyderabad and the other from bangalore run by kingfisher everyday one trip each. Alternatively, tourists coming by air can land in Hyderabad and take a taxi to Nandigama which will take about 4 to 5 hours.
Rail
The nearest source of railway from nandigama is madhira which is25 km from nandigama and another is vijaywada which is 50 km.
Road
Nandigama is present in between Hyderabad and Vijayawada. The NH9 which connects Hyderabad and Vijayawada passes through Nandigama. The city is well connected to Vijaywada. From Hyderabad it is 220 km and Vijayawada is just 50 km away. You can enjoy a 45min ride over four lane road to Vijayawada. Be careful there is a bypass road which avoids the main town if you are traveling during night.
Culture
Kakani Venkata Ratnam College (known as KVR college), Nandigama has published a book "Nandigama Seema Vignana Chandrika" on the history, culture and many more of Nandigama. Copy of the same can be downloaded from magazine section of the college website http://www.kvrcollege.edu.in
Education
Nandigama is well known for education as well, where many International; Government and Private schools and colleges were established both in Nandigama and its surrounding villages. One of the very famous and oldest schools are Zilla Parishat High School (ZPHS); M.G.H.H.School(Mahatma Gandhi Harijana High School), an aided government school located in Nehru Nagar, which was built by Sri.Vemula Kesavarao; two students from this school (Chalamala Maraiah and Thati Himabindu), were selected in IIIT NUZVID, in 2009 batch. There are many well recognized schools like Don Bosco High School an international school, in Rythupeta, Nadigama; The Vijaywada Gowtham School; Gowtama Techno Concept School, established in 1983 as Gowtama Model School; NARAYANA Group of Educational Institutions started Narayana e-Techno School and Junior College.
One of the Famous and Oldest Colleges are the KVR Junior & Degree College, a Government aided college in Nandigama, which has got one of the best libraries in Krishna District. Many students from surrounding villages live in many Hostels in Nandigama.
Politics
The one man who helped to farmers is Late VENKATA RAMANA DEVINENI [ 1994 MLA Under TDP Government ]. Nandigama constancy people praise him like god.
