Saida
Saida Character from the James Bond franchise Portrayed by Carmen du Sautoy Saida is a belly dancer in Beirut, and was portrayed by Carmen du Sautoy. She is seen to be with Bill Fairbanks (Agent 002) before he is killed by Scaramanga, though she says she "was in his arms" and was not present at his death. She puts the used bullet in her navel as a charm, and Bond meets her in her dressing room to take it. After a fight with some guards she realizes the gold bullet, her lucky charm, was stolen - Bond had taken it with his mouth and swallowed it.
Saida was originally conceived as an "overtly plump and made-up" dancer which Bond would have some repulse, but the producers decided to change to a "classic" Bond girl. The scene where Bond takes the bullet from Saida was also different, originally being conceived as an homage to Bond and Tatiana Romanova's encounter in From Russia with Love with a henchman filming their sexual encounter and being discovered by 007, and the bullet being originally in a black necktie just like the one Romanova wore.[1]
