Hurstbridge is a railway station in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, located in the suburb of Hurstbridge, on the Hurstbridge railway line. Hurstbridge is staffed on a part-time basis and is in Metcard Zone 2. The station is the terminus for the Hurstbridge line.
Facilities
The station is located between Heidelberg-Kinglake Road and Greysharps Road, with station access from Heidelberg-Kinglake Road.
The station consists of only one platform. The platform has a large brick building with a waiting area and a ticket office. A large Metcard machine is located inside the waiting room, which is able to dispense most ticketing options available and also accept notes and coins. A stabling yard is located adjacent to the station.
The station is staffed on a part-time basis until 8:00pm most evenings, except on Sundays when it closes at 1:45pm. Train services to Melbourne operate every 20-40 minutes during peak hours, every 40 minutes during the day, and hourly at night.
History
Hurstbridge station opened on June 25 1912 as "Hurst's Bridge". It was later renamed to "Hurstbridge" in the same year.
