Facilities
Collingwood station is located between Stanton & Gipps Streets rail overpasses, with station access from both.
The station consists of two elevated side platforms: Platform 1 (Flinders Street bound) has a large weatherboard building, while platform 2 (Epping & Hurstbridge bound) has a smaller weatherboard building. A large Metcard machine is located at the entrance to platform 1, which is able to dispense most ticketing options available and also accept notes and coins. A small coin-only Metcard machine is located at the entrance to platform 2.
Collingwood Town Hall is a short walk from the station, on Hoddle Street.
Collingwood station opened on October 21 1901 as "Collingwood Town Hall". It was renamed "Collingwood" in 1909. [ [http://www.vicsig.net/index.php?page=infrastructure&name=Collingwood VICSIG Infrastructure - Collingwood] ] The station building and platforms were rebuilt in 1985-1986.[cite journal]
