Hurstbridge is a township located in the Diamond Valley, in the Shire of Nillumbik, on the north eastern fringe of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, located at the watercourse junction of Diamond Creek and Arthurs Creek.

History

Hurstbridge was first settled in 1842 by Cornelius Haley, a grazier. The township was once known as Hurst's Bridge, from the Hurst family who built the first log bridge across the Diamond Creek. A settlement later developed around the bridge and the Post Office opened on August 7, 1912 (known as Hurst's Bridge until 1915, Hurst Bridge until about 1954).Citation
