^1 There are four routes that are considered part of the City Terminal Zone:
- ML = Main Line
- NYP = trains to Penn Station
- GCT = trains to Grand Central Terminal
- HP = Hunterspoint Avenue - This route (part of the Main Line) is served only during weekday rush hours in the peak direction (to Long Island City in the morning, from Long Island City in the afternoon). Most trains on this route terminate/originate at Hunterspoint Avenue. Hunterspoint Avenue and the track east of it is considered Main Line territory.
- MT = Montauk Branch - There is only one westbound AM rush hour train that uses this route west of Jamaica. No eastbound passenger service.
- AT = Atlantic Branch
