Mullanpur Dakha is a town and a nagar panchayat in Ludhiana district in the Indian state of Punjab. Dakha is a pind which is separate from mullanpur. There are many well respected NRIs from this town mainly from the villages of Sudhar, Halwara, Mohie, Jodhan, Khandoor, Rurka, Sidhwan.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[1] Mullanpur Dakha had a population of 14,607. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Mullanpur Dakha has an average literacy rate of 69%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 74%, and female literacy is 63%. In Mullanpur Dakha, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Dakha Village is very near to Mullanpur, Isewal, Phagla, Basimi, Birmi, Malakpur Bet, Humabran, Chack, Jangpur and so many others.

The village is situated approximately 30 km from the city of Ludhiana and is also surrounded by various other towns like Raikot, Sudhar, Jagraon and Mullanpur with easy access to the village by public transport(mainly Buses & Taxi) from all important centres. The closest Railway Stations are Chawnkimaan (7 km), Mullanpur (10 km) and Ludhiana (30 km). The closest international airport is Raja Sansi International Airport, about 3 hours drive away. With population more than 5000, the village currently has three main educational institutions viz. Government Primary School, Government High School and a private secondary school. Beside these, a large number of students from the village study at a dozen of other schools and colleges situated in nearby towns and cities; most notably being Guru Nanak Public School, Mullanpur and Guru Hargobind Khalsa College, Sudhar.
