Raikot is a city and a municipal council in Ludhiana district in the Indian state of Punjab.

Geography

Demographics

As of 2001 India census, [GR|India] Raikot had a population of 24,738. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Raikot has an average literacy rate of 66%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 70%, and female literacy is 62%. In Raikot, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age. 98% of the population are jat Sikhs during partition raikot experienced outrages religious violence.
