Devendranagar is a town and a nagar panchayat in Panna district in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India.

Devendranagar is known for its annual curry festival in which children dress as Hindu deities and visit poor people to give them curry.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census[1], Devendranagar had a population of 11,411. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Devendranagar has an average literacy rate of 61%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 69% and, female literacy is 52%. In Devendranagar, 18% of the population is under 6 years of age. DEVENDRA NAGAR IS ALSO KNOWN FOR ITS JAIN TEMPLE WHICH IS NAMED AS SHRI CHANDRA PRABHU DIGAMBAR JAIN MANDIR. IT HAS MANY IDOLS BUT THE MAIN IDOL IS OF 8TH JAIN TEERTHANKAR LORD CHANDRAPRABH JI. RECENTLY A MAGNIFICENT & MORE THAN 1000 YEAR OLD IDOL OF 23RD TEERTHANKAR LORD PARSHVANATH JI HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED HERE AFTER THE FAMOUS JAIN RITUAL OF PANCH KALYANAK PRATISHTHA MAHOTSAVA. A town is the popular center of education(GOVT BOYS HIGHER SECONDRY, SARSWATI HIGHER SECONDRY).although it is very small town even in every year students of this town selected in PSC IAS MBBS B.E. etc. Students of this small town get position in state merit.
