- Pomona Valley
The Pomona Valley, located between the
San Gabriel Valley andSan Bernardino Valley in the Inland Empire region ofSouthern California , straddles the border betweenLos Angeles County andSan Bernardino County . Some residents consider the Pomona Valley to be a unique geographical area, distinct from both Los Angeles and the Inland Empire. Indeed, onMarch 1 ,1893 theCalifornia Assembly voted 54-14 for a new county to form in the region, San Antonio County, with Pomona as its seat. Los Angeles interests in the Senate rejected the concept, however, and today the eastern and western portions remain divided between San Bernardino and Los Angeles counties.cite news | title= History timeline of the Inland Empire, California | url= http://www.sbsun.com/empireday_3/ci_7323066 | publisher=San Bernardino County Sun | date=October 30 ,2007 | accessdate= 2007-11-15] Physical dividing lines separating the Pomona valley from the San Bernardino Valley on the east include: the San Antonio River, the eastern border of the Watershed of the San Antonio River, and Interstate 15/Etiwanda Avenue.
