History
Nok Mini Airlines (ex-SGA Airlines) is owned by Siam General Aviation Co., Ltd., based in Bangkok. Its president is Jain Charnnarong. It started operations in October 2002. The company also is an authorized service center for Cessna aircraft in Thailand. In November 2004, it launched daily Bangkok-Hua Hin flights.
The company started accepting Internet bookings in 2005, and in 2006 it received an Airline Operation Certificate and commenced flight operation as a scheduled airline. In February 2007, it started services from a second hub at Chiang Mai International Airport (ex-primary hub), servicing routes to Pai and Nan. In addition to its own website, the company accepts bookings through Nok Air's website, and operates routes for that airline, which is a low-cost subsidiary of Thai Airways International.
In 2010, the airline operated two 34-seated Saab 340 aircraft leased by Regional Express Airlines in Australia painted in the colorful Nok Mini livery. These aircraft were delivered on January 5, 2010. Registrations are HS-GBA (blue aircraft) and HS-GBB (green aircraft). Both aircraft were transferred to Happy Air and had their titles removed but retained their colorful paint jobs. They were reregistered to HS-HPE and HPI in July 2010. But Nok Mini added two more Saab 340B's early in 2011 in eye-catching purple (HS-GBC) and pink colour schemes (HS-GBD) and also in October 2011, Saab 340B in orange colour scheme (HS-GBE) was delivered to Nok Mini's fleet.
In July 2011, Nok Mini Airlines moved its base to Bangkok : Don Mueang International airport.
