The airline is a joint venture between Thai businesswoman Manika Sawadipan and her Korean partners. The carrier, using the slogan ``Wing of Asia", promises to offer low fares with premium service, meaning that meals will be served. Leisure travelers will form the bulk of CTA's passenger base.
It expects to become Thailand's third-largest airline.[2]
Crystal Thai Airlines has pushed back its launch. As of November 2011, it it not in operation.

History
Crystal Thai Airlines was formed in November 4, 2009. In the following year, it obtained its license to operate on April 2, 2010 and subsequently obtain its certificate on September 9, 2010.
Crystal Thai Airlines (CTA)is a 51:49 Thai-South Korean joint venture with 201 million baht (US$6.7 million)in registered capital. It is led by Thai logistics businesswoman Manika Sawasdipan and South Korean partners, whose names were not disclosed.
CTA has leased one Airbus A320, with 174 seats and is also acquiring a larger Airbus with a longer range _ the A330-200 _ through a lease in March 2011 to support expanding services. A second A320 is expected join the fleet by the end of this year.
On January 30, 2011, it launched it first flight from Bangkok to Muan, South Korea. The next day, it launched its second route to Incheon, also in South Korea from its hub in Bangkok. By February, it has its third route launched to the capital of Sri Lanka - Colombo.
