Thopramkudy is a major market and educational centres in the Idukki district of Kerala state, south India.

This small village of migrant farmers and native tribes has been developing as an important town centres of Idukki. Various spice products provide life blood for this village and market. Murickassery is well connected with all parts of highranges. Murickassey serve as a connecting point of various major highrange roads including Adimali-Munnar road, Thopramkudy-Kattappana and Thopramkudy-Nedumkandam Thopramkudy kanakakunnuand Muricakssery-Karaimban and Murickassery-Thekkinthadu road. It is 12 km away from the district capital called Painavu. People of the region consider Murickassery a centre of education which is affordable to them. Pavanatma college is the backbone of this small centre of education. St Mary's Higher Secondary school has enlightened two generation of students. Now they live in the various parts of the world but remember their school and teachers. This was also a place for private tutorial colleges and tuition centres. Unemployed youths found bread from these small educational institutions. We, the people of the region respect them and salute them. Lower middle class farmers of Muricakssery and nearby villages including Thoprumkudy, Padamugham,Moongappara, Mannathara,Kanakakunnu, Rajamudi, Pathinaramkandam, Poomamkandam, Kambilikandam, Melechinnar etc.

       Kanakakunnu is the most nearest village of Thopramkudy.St Jude church (The most prominent 

church of St Jude in highrange)is situated in this village.The main occupation of peopple in this village is aggriculture.Pepper cultivation and coffee plantation are the backbone of agculture .Most of the people belong to christian roman cathalic.In case of education there is one English medium school in Kanakakunnu called Auxilium English medium school.'SATHEESH JOSE AREEKKATTU'living in this place.

     There is a multispeciality missionary hospital named Alphonsa Hospital in Murickassery. They have the legacy of serving people with love and care. Poor people of the region found this hospital a place of refuge. And a famous collage named Pavanatma. Many people from Thopramkudy are working abroad and other states of Kerala.

Murickassery is situated in Vathikkudy Grama Panchayath.


Thopramkudy is the nearest town of murickasery.My "vava" lives in this place.(abhi)

Murickassery is located 10 km from Karimban. Murickassery is also known for a bus accident took place on 1988, in this several PAVANATMA(one of the famous college in idukki)students lost their lives.(Binish James)
