Near Metcalf there is the WCTV Tower, the tallest structure in Georgia. A lumberyard is located on the main highway. There are two churches located in Metcalf, Friendship Baptist[1] and Metcalf Methodist Church. Friendship Baptist is one of the oldest congregations in the Georgia Baptist Convention. Founded in 1848 about 2 miles outside of the township of Metcalf it was later moved to the present site in 1890.[1]
