Cranbrook, Devon

Cranbrook, Devon

Cranbrook is the name chosen for a new town in East Devon, it will initially consist of 2,900 residential properties (up to 6,550 properties by 2026[1]) as well as all the required infrastructure to support a town of this size.

The location of Cranbrook will be north of Rockbeare between the A30 and the Exeter to Waterloo railway line. A new railway station will be built as part of the plan.

The requirement to build extra housing in this area forms part of Devon County's 2001 to 2016 Structure Plan and has been included in East Devon's Local Plan 1995-2001.

The development will feature a new Country Park that provides wetland habitat and native grasslands in order to advance the ecology in the area. The park will also offer public open space for the new community to use.
