Mortdale is a railway station on the CityRail Illawarra line. Located in the Sydney suburb of Mortdale, it serves a primarily residential area and nearby commercial and light industrial area. Mortdale has an island platform. Two sets of points at the northern end of the station allow trains to terminate on either platform and to access the Mortdale Maintenance Depot at the southern end of the station. The tracks through Mortdale are signalled for bi-directional operation but this is only used in emergency settings.

Platforms/Service

The station is served by about four trains per hour for most of the time, with additional trains at weekday peak hours.

Platform 1:
*Illawarra line alt - all stations and limited stops services to Hurstville and Bondi Junction.

Platform 2:
*Illawarra line alt - terminating services; all stations and limited stops services to Sutherland, Cronulla and Waterfall.

Accessibility

Access from either side of the line is via stairs and a pedestrian overbridge. As of 2007, this station does have Easy Access for wheelchairs with a lift to connect the platform with the overbridge and another two connecting the overbridge with adjacent streets.

Transport Links

Punchbowl Bus Company runs two routes to and from Mortdale station:
*944 - to Roselands.
*945 - to Bankstown.
NightRide runs one route via Mortdale station:
*N10 - Between Sutherland station and City(Town Hall).
