Road

Clive is situated just of the A49, and the B5476. The village itself has country roads throughout, where in places the passing of two cars require one to pull in.

Rail

There is a railway station nearby, on the Welsh Marches Line, at Yorton, between Wem and Shrewsbury. The station at Yorton is served by roughly one train every 2 hours in either direction, and is a request stop, requiring the station passenger to wave at the approaching train in order to stop it and be picked up.

Bus

The village is served by bus routes to nearby towns Wem , Shrewsbury, and Whitchurch, giving services 4 to 6 times per day, higher than average for a village in the local area.

Community life

In the centre of the village is the All Saints church [1] which holds regular services. The vicar is Rob Haarhoff.

Clive Church of England primary school is situated half way up Grinshill Hill.

The village is often used by the local Hunt, The North Shropshire Foxhounds, from time to time there are meets around the village.

The firmly established Post office on the High Street remains a central point for the community, while regular evening classes, from computing to weaving, are held in the village hall.

Clive is often seen locally as one of the more exclusive areas of northern Shropshire to live in.

The village is served by a monthly news letter with input from the local community.

Local services and night life

The village is within walking distance of two pubs, The Inn at Grinshill [2], which also serves food, and The Railway Inn [3], which is renowned for its real ales.

The village is also served by a mechanics, car dealership, bowling club, village club, and a number of small businesses such as decorators and electricians are based in and around the village.

In 2006, Nerissa Hatcher, a resident of New Street, was voted 'Miss Clive 2006'. The 'Miss Clive 2007' winner was Rachel Tilling.[citation needed]
