Biography

Antonio Escobar and Noemí Carrión met during 2002, in the Madrid recording studio of Spanish House DJ and record producer Dr Kucho!, where they were recording vocals for Carrión's solo album for Sony Music. In 2004, they formed Nieva and in 2007, after 3 years of development, the duo performed concerts, in Spanish cities with a full band,[3] before writing, recording and producing their debut album. In 2011, the group began the final mixing and mastering of Sed De Mar (Sea Of Thirst) which featured the songs De Cualquier Manera, Maldito Veneno, Rompecorazones and Sólo Me Importas Tú.

Background

Antonio Escobar is a Madrid-based music producer, composer and sound designer from Pamplona, Navarre, Spain, creating music for advertising, TV, cinema, television and recording artists. He began during the late 1990s, as a record producer for the singer Manzanita during the late 1990s. In 1998, he formed Spanish rock groups Maydrïm[4][5] and Nómadas in 2003. Escobar was one of the first music producers in Spain to merge electronica, rock and orchestral music, composing, arranging and producing for a series of recording artists and important music companies in Spain. In 2002, he became chief producer and composer in A.S.K., the recording studios and production company of Argentinian producer Alejo Stivel.[6] He has composed music for more than 100 publicity campaigns for international brands, winning numerous music and advertising industry awards.[7]

Noemí Carrión is a singer, songwriter and actress from Alicante, Spain. At 21, she moved to Madrid to study music, percussion, dance, dramatic art, songwriting and vocal performance. She has collaborated with diverse artists including musicians from Seguirdad Social, UB40 and Revólver, and participated in the Televisión Española festival show Eurocanción, becoming a finalist in the Spanish Eurovision Contest 2001. She has also sung at important festivals in Spain including The DJ Awards, Festival Freedom (Torremolinos) and El Mediatic in Alicante, and is the voice of several television commercials and movie soundtracks. In 2002, Carrión released "Friday Night Forever" (Sony Music)[8] under the alias Naymi, produced by David Ferrero, which topped the charts of Máxima FM. In 2003, she co-starred as Meat Loaf, in the musical "Queen: We Will Rock You",.[9][10] Carrión then appeared in numerous musicals and shows in Madrid and around Spain. In 2006, Naymi’s pop-dance rendition of ABBA’s "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!" (Blanco y Negro, Spain, and Mas Label, Mexico),[11] also produced by Ferrero, was released with group Mito, and like "Friday Night Forever", was well-received on the radio airwaves. In 2009, digital Italian label, Wondermark, released the pop-samba track "Rio de Janeiro" by group Sugar Reef, featuring Naymi, with vocals engineered by Ferrero, and distributed in digital stores worldwide.
