Of the only three secondary sources currently cited in this article, two make no reference to the film in question but only to a character in the film, and the third is simply a list of film titles. A search for reliable, secondary sources reveals an insufficient amount of significant coverage. This article fails Wikipedia's notability guidelines for films. Neelix (talk) 22:06, 21 November 2011 (UTC)
- Keep: This was a film released nationally in Japan and made its way stateside by means of a Sega CD video game, and it should frankly not matter that the film's protagonist is the subject of the sources in question. The fact of the matter is that some aspect of the film has appeared in reliable sources in the past 3 years, because finding sources regarding the film itself from 1993 is nigh impossible. Due to the age of the film, we must rely on the other criteria set forth by WP:MOVIE to determine the notability, and the fact that its main character is still prevalent in the Japanese media should be enough to show that the film in its original form is notable. I found reliable sources that relate to the film. Why the hell are they not suitable just because they don't happen to directly be about the film, but the film's main character?—Ryulong (竜龙) 22:23, 21 November 2011 (UTC)

Barbados–Japan relations
- Barbados–Japan relations (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs) – (View AfD)
- (Find sources: "Barbados–Japan relations" – news · books · scholar · free images)
fails WP:GNG. I don't see signficant third party coverage of actual relations. gnews turns up close to little. no resident ambassadors, most of relations occur in a Japan-Carribean context. Japanese foreign website refers to 5,300 million yen of investment which equates to USD70 million, this is a tiny fraction of Japan's economy. one ministerial visit in 44 years of relations says it all. LibStar (talk) 05:43, 21 November 2011 (UTC)
- I should have meant, one ministerial visit from Japan. LibStar (talk) 07:26, 21 November 2011 (UTC)
LOL Libstar always cracks me up. Now if I'm to accept your figures as accurate. Firstly US$70 Million in trade for a country with a population of only a quarter million is not "significant" in terms of share of overall trade? Japan is Barbados' fourth largest trading partner. But what do I know about 'significance.' That figure is only 250x the size of Barbados' total population.
Secondly, that part about one-visit between nations again is not correct.

CaribDigita (talk) 05:50, 21 November 2011 (UTC)
- and Barbados' GDP is about $4 billion. so a $70 million investment is relatively small. being the 4th largest trading partner does not guarantee an article on bilateral relations, what would, would be significant third party coverage. LibStar (talk) 06:12, 21 November 2011 (UTC)
- that's a honorary consul, that is a volunteer position held by a resident. They have very little functions, and are in no way an ambassador, and is hardly an indicator of notable relations. LibStar (talk) 13:43, 21 November 2011 (UTC)
Keep - given the conflict on fishery rights this is a notable relationship. Pantherskin (talk) 07:04, 21 November 2011 (UTC)

Gōzoku

Delete. Attempting to introduce term into English which is not common. This has nearly an exact corollary in English (or other European) history. That of liege lord. (Note that lack of references not an issue for this nomination except one that defines it as having entered the English language!). Student7 (talk) 22:16, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
- Keep Rather than being "an attempt to introduce term into English", this is a term long used by scholars writing in English about Japanese, and sometimes Chinese, history, and here are a few examples:
- The ancient samurai
- Above the Clouds: Status Culture of the Modern Japanese Nobility
- Tenno seiji - Japan studies: Studies in Japanese history and civilization
- Heavenly warriors: the evolution of Japan's military, 500-1300
- A history of Japan, Volume 3
- Japan, sport and society: tradition and change in a globalizing world
- A history of law in Japan until 1868
- State and society in early medieval China
The topic is notable in English language scholarly usage, and the article should be kept and improved rather than being deleted. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 01:07, 21 November 2011 (UTC)

- Comment. Yes, it could be described for each article where absolutely required. Not sure it is needed at all. Japanese are "much closer" to their medieval period than Europeans and seem to feel that all terms regarding it are unique to Japan, when many, if not most, are not unique, but in all medieval society. A few have already entered English and these are fine to use. English (not unlike Japanese) is a "language sponge." English likes new words. But it is not up to Wikipedia to introduce them. They must be in the language already. Demonstrating that it is in scholarly books, does not, for this purpose, show that it is part of the English language. Japanese underground band that does not appear to reach notability standards per WP:NBAND. Members do not have independent notability, none of their albums or songs have charted, and although they are signed to a label, Art-Pop Records, it is not a "major" record label and they have not released any full-length albums under this label (nor have they ever). Current sources in the article point to primary sources and routine listings. I, Jethrobot drop me a line (note: not a bot!) 05:54, 12 November 2011 (UTC)
