Nahin Samne (English: Your absence) is a Hindi song composed by A. R. Rahman and lyrics by Anand Bakshi for the 1998 bollywood film Taal. The song features vocals by Sukhwinder Singh and Hariharan, who is the main vocalist. Nahin Samne is a soft ramantic number which is well sung by Hariharan. A. R. Rahman is successful in bringing his career best orchestration in the song. The main instrument used is Sitar.

A. R. Rahman reused this song partially in Closer Than Ever from the musical Bombay Dreams. This song was performed by Preeya Kalidas & Raza Jaffrey.

A. R. Rahman bagged a number of awards for the soundtrack he scored for Taal including Filmfare Best Music Director Award, IIFA Best Music Director Award and Zee Cine Award for Best Music Director.[1]
