It stretches northwards the heads of the Welsh Valleys, westwards to Bridgend, eastwards to Avonmouth and to the far side of the Severn Estuary.

The service is currently carried on three transmitters and as required, has to carry the two BBC regional services, BBC Radio Wales and BBC Radio Cymru.
