NOW Cardiff & Newport, as the name suggests, is the name of the DAB multiplex operator for the Cardiff & Newport areas of South Wales. It stretches northwards the heads of the Welsh Valleys, westwards to Bridgend, eastwards to Avonmouth and to the far side of the Severn Estuary.

The platform originally launched as Capital Digital Cardiff & Newport which was a wholly owned subsidiary of Capital Radio PLC. When the parent company merged with GWR Group PLC in 2004, it took on the Now Digital name. However, after Global Radio bought the merged company (GCap Media) in 2008, Global chose to sell the DAB subsidiary to transmitter company Arqiva.

The service is currently carried on three transmitters and as required, has to carry the two BBC regional services, BBC Radio Wales and BBC Radio Cymru.
