MuxCo (Wrexham & Cheshire) Licensed area North East Wales, West Cheshire & The Wirral Frequency 10D (215.072 MHz) Air date Yet to Launch Owner Consortium Website www.muxco.com MuxCo (Wrexham & Cheshire) is the DAB multiplex operator for North Wales, Cheshire and Merseyside. It is a consortium made up of four companies - Dee 106.3, UTV Radio, Town & Country Broadcasting and transmitter company National Grid Wireless all owning 25%.
The DAB licence was advertised by Ofcom on February 7, 2007. At the close on May 9, 2007, the regulator had received two applications. One by MuxCo (Wrexham & Cheshire), the other from Now Digital, a wholly owned subsidiary of GCap Media PLC (at the time). On September 6, 2007, it was announced that MuxCo (Wrexham & Cheshire) had won the licence.
Only three transmitters are confirmed as carrying the platform initially; Moel-Y-Parc, Wrexham & St. John's Beacon. As required, the two BBC regional service have to be carried on this platform.
