Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management & Engineering popularly known as MPSTME an important addition to SVKM's NMIMS University was started in the year 2006-2007. It comes under Shri Vile Parle Kelvani Mandal's(SVKM's) NMIMS Deemed-to-be-University.It has two Campuses, One at Vile Parle, Mumbai^[1] and other at Shirpur,^[2] Maharashtra

Courses

Intake

Currently there is an intake of 370 students in MBA(Tech.), 720 students in B.Tech, 72 students in M.Tech, 60 students in MCA, 105 students in Ph.D which includes both Mumbai and Shirpur Campuses.

History

Mukesh Patel was an Indian Entrepreneur. Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management and Engineering is an important addition to NMIMS vision of Transcending Horizons. MPSTME leverages the capabilities inherent in the university, in both engineering and management domains to make this unique contribution possible. It came into existence after third batch of MBA(Tech.) came in 2006. Before that MBA(Tech.) course was there in NMIMS School of Business Management(SBM).

About MPSTME

It has a world-class infrastructure with all classrooms with AC's & Projectors for imparting quality education. It also has well-equipped library with impressive collection of books, journals. MPSTME has well equipped Seminar Hall, Drawing Hall and Conference hall for various programs. Students from all over India come to this institute for achieving success in life.

MBA(Tech.)

MBA Tech. an under-graduate cum post-graduate programme was started in the year 2004 which under Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies. It is a 5-year Integrated Dual-Degree program. It gives students a DUAL DEGREE in a span time of 5 years which is [B.Tech+MBA(Tech.)]. Courses under MBA(Tech.) are:-

1. Chemical Engineering (Only Mumbai Campus)
2. Civil Engineering
3. Computer Engineering (Only Shirpur Campus)
4. Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering
5. Information Technology
6. Mechanical Engineering

Specialization in MBA is done on the Elective subjects taken by the students. They are :-

5. Human Resources & Organizational behavior
6. Project Management

MPSTME follow a Trimester Pattern in all its courses. MBA(Tech.) Students have to undergo Technical Internship (3–4 months) in Trimester IX and Management Internship (4–5 months) in Trimester XII. Admissions to this degree is through NMAT (Engineering) Exam which is conducted in the month of May. Currently it has total 180 seats in Mumbai Campus and 190 seats in Shirpur Campus. For Shirpur Campus MBA(Tech.) Students they will study in Shirpur Campus for 1st 3 years and remaining 2 years in Mumbai Campus.

B.Tech

BTech an under-graduate programme was started in the year 2006. Determine to achieve excellence MPSTME created a world class infrastructure so that well equipped teaching is given to their students. Various courses provided are :-

2. Computer Engineering
3. Electronics Engineering (Only Mumbai Campus)
4. Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering
5. Information Technology
6. Mechanical Engineering

The duration of this course is 4 years. It has a total intake of 720 students (420 - Mumbai & 300 - Shirpur). Admissions to this degree is through valid scores of NMAT (Engineering) Exam. In April 2011 Students of MPSTME' Won an "International Award" at NASA "Great Moon Buggy Race" which was held on 1–2 April 2011. Students have to do an Internship in the vacation of 3rd year till the commencement of 4th year.

M.Tech

M.Tech a post-graduate programme was started by MPSTME in the year 2010. Courses for MTech are:-

1. Computer Engineering
2. Electronics Engineering
3. Information Technology
4. Telecommunication Engineering

Currently M.Tech is offered only in Mumbai Campus with a total intake of 72 students. Admissions to this courses is through valid Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering(GATE) score followed by an Interview. The duration of the courses is 2 years. In the second year the student has to do Project Work.

MCA

MCA is a 3 year post-graduate programme by MPSTME. It was started to meet the increasing demand of trained manpower in the field of Computer Applications. It has an intake of 60 students. Students have to do a Project in Industry in the Trimester VIII & IX. Currently this course is offered in the Mumbai Campus.

Ph.D

Ph.D. programmes was started by MPSTME in the year 2011. It is a 3-5 year programme depending upon the specialization. Specialization offered are:-

6. Manufacturing Engineering
7. Technology Management

It has a total intake of 105 students. There is a entrance test for the Ph.D. programme followed by an interview.Currently this course is offered in the Mumbai Campus.

Placements

Placements are always an important event of the college. Placement season starts after the completion on Trimester X(B.Tech.) & Trimester XIII(MBA.Tech.) of the academic year. NMIMS has 100% Placement Record for two consecutive years (2010 & 2011).
