Moss is an unincorporated community in Monterey County, California.^[1] It is located on the Pajaro Valley Consolidated Railroad near Moss Landing,^[2] at an elevation of 3 feet (1 m).^[1]

A post office operated at Moss from 1895 to 1917, when service was transferred to Moss Landing.^[2] The name honors Charles Moss, co-owner of a wharf and after whom Moss Landing is named.^[2]
