The Minister for International Security Strategy is a British government position. The current holder of the post is Gerald Howarth, Conservative Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Ministry of Defence,[1].The post was formerly known as the Minister for International Security and Defence which was first created on 5th October 2008 when the former Labour Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, had a reshuffle.
The post is a junior ministerial position within the Ministry of Defence, previously it was of the more senior rank of Minister of State, but now it is of Parliamentary Under-Secretary level.
