The Financial News, is a financial newspaper and news website published in London. It is a weekly investment banking, fund management and securities industries newspaper, published by eFinancial News Limited. Financial News was founded in 1996.
Financial news is owned by Dow Jones & Company, who acquired eFinancial News in 2007. The Dow Jones franchise also includes The Wall Street Journal, Barron's Magazine, Factiva and Marketwatch.
Since its founding in 1996 it has been in competition with the more diversified Financial Times (The FT carries both political and business news).

The newspaper's coverage is primarily Europe, UK-focused though it also has correspondents in New York. It is stratified by financial services industry, with major weekly sections on Investment Banking, Asset Management, Private Equity, Trading & Technology, Merges &Acquisitions, Hedge Funds, Debt Markets, Equity Markets and Derivatives. Online coverage is structured in a similar way.

The ABC Audited average circulation for the Financial News print edition for the period 01 July 2006 - 30 June 2007 was 19,772 an 5% increase on the previous year. The readership profile is highly educated and affluent professionals, mainly in the London-based financial services industries. The average annual income of Financial News readers is over 200,000 pounds sterling.
Visitors to the main Financial News website in May 2008 was 374,928. The average page views per month was about 1.5 million during this time.
