Deepwater goby, Ponticola bathybius, is a Caspian representative of the Fam. Gobiidae. Widespread in the Caspian Sea on he depth up to 198 m[1]. Does not come to the fresh waters. Length up to 25 cm. According to molecular investigations the species belonging to the genus Ponticola, not to Neogobius as mentioned before[2].
