Owner Lashaun McDaniels The Cypress Pegasus was a franchise of the American Basketball Association based in Cypress, Texas that debuted in the 2010-2011 season. The Pegasus played in the Gulf Coast Division but went defunct halfway through its inaugural season.
The Cypress Pegasus began existence as the Honolulu Pegasus, who played in the 2009-10 season. This was the fourth time an ownership group has planned to put a team in Hawaii; after the Hawaii Mega Force folded midway through the 2005-06 season, different ownership groups tested the market with teams such as the Hawaii Hurricanes and Pacific Rim Rockers, neither of which got a chance to tip off.
On May 17, 2010, it was announced that the owners of the team would relocate the club to Cypress, Texas due to travel problems while based in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The Pegasus went defunct in 2011.
