soccer team founded in 2007. The team is a member of theUnited Soccer Leagues Premier Development League (PDL), the fourth tier of theAmerican Soccer Pyramid , and play in the Mid-South Division of the Southern Conference in 2008, against teams from Austin, Baton Rouge, Dallas, El Paso, Jackson, Laredo and New Orleans.The team play their home games at
The Soccer World Center , a soccer-specific facility in the city ofRichmond, Texas , convert|32|mi|km west-southwest of downtown Houston. The 17 acre facility, which comprises three fields (including a 4,500-seat stadium field that is expandable to 8,000-10,000), was built by team ownerJuan Carlos Hernández , who also serves as the team's starting goalkeeper. The team's colors are blue and white.The Leones are an unofficial minor league affiliate of Mexican Premier League team Cruz Azul.
