Mich Hedin Hansen better known by his stage name Cutfather is a Danish music producer and songwriter.

Career

He is perhaps best known for his remix of "Return of the Mack" by Mark Morrison (1996), and the song "Superstar" released internationally by Jamelia in 2003.

He has worked with Danish producer Jonas Jeberg. They have written and produced for Pussycat Dolls, Kylie Minogue and Jordin Sparks. He has previously worked with Joe Belmaati in the songwriting and production team Cutfather & Joe. As part of the latter partnership he produced for Peter Andre, Ace of Base and Kylie Minogue. In 2003 he received the prestigious Ivor Novello award for Best Performing song for "Superstar" by Jamelia, which was the most played song in the United Kingdom that year.

According to his own website he is credited with seven number one singles and 37 top 10 singles in the UK and four top 10 singles in the U.S. Other artists Cutfather has produced or remixed music for include Brandy, Santana, Shayne Ward, Blue, Christina Aguilera, Angie Stone and most recent Pixie Lott.

He got a studio in Njalsgadepakhusene at Islands Brygge in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Colaborations

• Cutfather produced songs with his former production partner Joe Belmaati
• Cutfather was also one half of the Danish producer team Soulshock & Cutfather in partnership with Carsten Schack (known as Soulshock).
• They founded together the Danish label Soulpower Productions in 1990.
• Cutfather was also part of De Serious Cutshock with Carsten Schack and Peter Meldgaard (known as Depete) for producing the Turkish-Faroese singer Yasmin.
• In 2011, Cutfather collaborated with Melanie C on the release of her fifth solo album, The Sea.

Other appearances

He was a judge in the 2011-edition of X Factor in Denmark and will return again in 2012.
