The "Flowers" album spawned the massively successful single, "Life Is a Flower", the most heavily played radio single of 1998, and Top 10 hits "Cruel Summer" and "Always Have, Always Will". The corresponding U.S. album sold poorly, and was the last original Ace of Base album released there. "Flowers" is estimated to have sold more than three million copies worldwide.
The "Flowers" album received gold certifications in Sweden and Denmark, and was certified platinum in Switzerland. The album was a top ten hit in Denmark, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Sweden and Switzerland. Singles from the album were also highly successful, earning the band top ten positions in the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Hungary, Italy, Russia, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and, oddly, Brazil, where the album was not even released.
