Ilan recorded all 10 tracks himself on all instruments, including vocals.[2] In addition to the songs found over the last few months on his Myspace page, he recorded two additional songs for this album.
It was released on November 18, 2008 as a digital download on digital music stores such as iTunes, Amazon and eMusic. It was also released as a free download on the official Nine Inch Nails web site.[3]
A follow-up to Coup was released three years later in April 2011 and is called Speak Through The White Noise.
