Cordlife Group Limited was established to provide a full suite of cord blood and tissue banking service which include the collection, processing and cryopreservation storage of cord blood stem cells and umbilical cord tissue. It currently has cord blood processing and tissue storage facilities in Singapore, Hong Kong, and China with a network extended to India, Indonesia and the Philippines.
CordLife (Hong Kong) is established in 2005, which is CordLife's first overseas facility built in line with the standards set by the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB). In 2007, the company was internationally recognised by the International Organization for Standardization with ISO 9001:2000 certification[1] and recently re-accredited and awarded ISO 9001:2008 in July 2010.[2] In 2008, a second office was opened in Kowloon, strategically opposite to the Hong Kong Baptist Hospital which holds the record for the city's highest number of private deliveries;[3] In 2010, CordLife (Hong Kong) is expanded into a new flagship facility at the Hong Kong Science Park.
CordLife is Hong Kong's only private cord blood bank to offer Sepax, an automated processing system that allows fast, automated and reproducible separation of blood in a closed and sterile environment. This Swiss-made patented technology processing can harvest significantly higher numbers of stem cells from cord blood than manual processing method.[4]
In 2010, CordLife (Hong Kong) is the award winner among cord blood banks in Hong Kong in the voting of "U-Choice Lifestyle Brand 2010"[5] by Metro Broadcast Corporation; "Top 10 Pregnant/Baby Products Award"[6] by the Pregnancy magazine, Hong Kong; and TVB Weekly The Most Popular Brand Award 2010 - The Most Popular Cord Blood Bank.[7] In 2011,CordLife (Hong Kong) was honored to receive another privilege award "Top Preganant/Baby Products Award".[8]
