The Rt. Rev. Christopher Birdwood Roussel Sargent (舒展) was a missionary of the Anglican Church.

Biography

He was born into an ecclesiastical family on 4 June 1906, [1]educated at St Paul's and St Catharine's College, Cambridge and worked as a teacher of physics at Wellington College until 1932. Invited by Charles Ridley Duppuy, Bishop of Victoria, Hong Kong, he became the headmaster of the Diocesan Boys' School, Hong Kong in 1932. He was ordained as a deacon in 1934[2] and took up the post Bishop of the Diocese of Fukien in 1938.[3] Bishop Sargent died of malaria in Foochow on 8 August 1943.[4]
