United States Census Bureau , the town has a total area of 34.3square mile s (88.8km² ), of which, 34.2 square miles (88.7 km²) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km²) of it (0.12%) is water.Demographics

census GR|2 of 2000, there were 1,520 people, 533 households, and 429 families residing in the town. Thepopulation density was 44.4 people per square mile (17.1/km²). There were 544 housing units at an average density of 15.9/sq mi (6.1/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 98.36% White, 0.26% African American, 0.13% Native American, 0.07% Asian, 0.79% from other races, and 0.39% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.45% of the population.There were 533 households out of which 37.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 71.7% were married couples living together, 4.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 19.5% were non-families. 16.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.85 and the average family size was 3.20.
In the town the population was spread out with 27.8% under the age of 18, 7.0% from 18 to 24, 30.4% from 25 to 44, 24.9% from 45 to 64, and 9.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 104.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 107.4 males.
