Nam Fung Sun Chuen (Chinese: 南豐新邨), built 1978, is a private apartment estate in Quarry Bay, Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong. Consisting of 12 buildings distributed along Greig Road and Greig Crescent with a car park at centre of the development, it was developed by Nam Fung Development. Because of its relatively large size of development it serves as the benchmark for premises developed in the late 1970s in the property market.

The tower blocks ranges from 28 to 33 floors. Blocks 1 to 5 are on 32 to 40 (even number) of Greig Road, blocks 6 to 12 are on 27 to 15 (odd number) of Greig Cresent.

Demographics

The population as at 2001 census was 8,372, with 2,826 households. Gender ratio is 1,000 female to 850 male. 11.7% are 0 to 14 of age, 39.8 are between 15 and 39, 37.0% are between 40 and 64, and 11.5% are over 65. The median age is 39. 92.2% declared Cantonese as the usually used language, 4.3% declared other Chinese languages, and 3.5% for English or other languages. For residents over 15 of age, 32.4% of male and 32.7% of female had never been married. For those who are over 15 of age, the education level of 14.5% is primary or below, 55.9% have secondary or matriculation, 29.5 have tertiary or above.[citation needed]

68.6% of the households are 3 people or below, 19.8% for 4 people, and 11.6% for 5 people or above. The average size of household is 2.9. 14.7% are single-person, 71.9% are unexpanded core families, and 13.4% are other form of families. The 75th percentile of household income is HK$45,750, the median is HK$30,100, and the 25th percentile is HK$18,000.[citation needed]

Transport

It is served by minibus routes 32, 32A and 33 to Shau Kei Wan, Cityplaza and North Point Ferry Pier. The nearest MTR station is Tai Koo Station of the Island Line.

Politics and administration

Together with Mount Parker Lodge, Kornville, Bo Fung Gardens, Parkvale, The Orchards, Tai Kut House and Tai Ming House, it forms the Nam Fung constituency at the Eastern District Council. The current district council member is Ms Leung Suk Ching.
