It is expected to open in 2012.[1]
The station is one of two that will be constructed as part of a 3.1-kilometre extension of the Northeast line from McKnight-Westwinds Station to Saddletowne Station. It will be located in a reserved right-of-way within the community of Martindale, with current plans calling for platforms to be staggered west and east of Martindale Boulevard. Due to its location in a residential area primarily serving local residents, there will be no park-and-ride lots at the station nor a bus terminal, unlike most other C-Train stations in Calgary.[2]
Construction on the extension is anticipated began in 2010 with completion in 2012, and is expected to cost about C$110,000,000.[3]
