C-Train light rail system inCalgary, Alberta . It opened on December 15,2007 , but opened to the public for use on December 17, 2007. Calgary International Airport , and is adjacent to the community of Castleridge (east), with the communities of Martindale, Taradale, and Saddleridge to the north. The station will only be the terminus for four years, however, as a further extension of this line to Saddle Ridge (to be completed by2011 ) was approved in November 2007 at an expected cost of $110 million.To be constructed along with the McKnight-Westwinds station, is the Oliver Bowen Maintenance Facility. This will help in the storage of the 22 additional LRVs that are planned to be purchased within the current 20 year capital plan.
