Terminus Route 201

Crowfoot is the northern terminus of the Northwest Line (Route 201) of the C-Train light rail system in Calgary, Alberta, opened on June 15, 2009.[1]

The station is located in the median of Crowchild Trail, to the west of Nose Hill Drive, and is adjacent to the community of Scenic Acres and the business district of Crowfoot. The station will be the northern terminus for Route 201 until the next station; Tuscany LRT, which will be located adjacent to the communities of Rocky Ridge and Tuscany, when completed by 2014. As the Crowfoot station was expected to be the terminus for several years, it was designed with a 1345 stall Park and Ride lot and pedestrian overpasses that will connect the station directly to both the Scenic Acres community, as well as provide a link to Crowfoot Centre.

The successful completion of this station was not possible without the lengthy discussions of the NW residents with the City and with Calgary Transit officials. There were many open houses and revisions to the plan. The objective of the discussions was to make sure the situation was suitable until the next stations open around 2014.[citation needed]
