David Barlow (born 22 October 1983 in Melbourne, Victoria) is an Australian professional basketball player. He plays for UCAM Murcia in the Spanish ACB.

Basketball career

David Barlow's career started at a young age when he began training under Brian Goorjian with the Victoria Titans in 2001, a year later he played College basketball at Metro State in Denver under former National Basketball League coach Mike Dunlap.

After a short stint in College basketball, David returned to Australia and was a finalist for 2003 Youth Player of the Year in the Big V (ABA) whilst playing with the Sandringham Sabres. In 2004, David made his NBL debut with the Sydney Kings and although he saw limited game time in his first two seasons he improved enormously and was one of the reasons that Sydney became such a dominant team in the competition.

David was then selected to be a part of the Australian national basketball team (also known as the Australian Boomers) in the 2006 FIBA World Championship where he averaged 6 points per game. David Barlow was beginning to find some form during the 2006/07 NBL season but was struck down with a season ending knee injury. Keen to return back to Victoria, David signed with the Melbourne Tigers in 2007.

During the 2007/08 NBL season Barlow had his best year as a professional basketballer, he averaged 16.6 ppg, 5 rpg and won a player of the week award when he shot a perfect game, scoring 37 points, 14-14 from the field and 8-8 from 3 pt range. Barlow's Tigers went on to win the championship.

David was selected for the Boomers team to play in the 2008 Summer Olympics and was named by Basketball Victoria [1] as the winner of its Alan Hughes Medal for Male Player of the Year for 2008 as the player who has made the greatest contribution to basketball at state, national and international levels in that year. In July 2009, he signed to play with the Spanish ACB team Basket Zaragoza 2002 S. A. D.. In August 2011 he moved on to UCAM Murcia for one season.^[1]
