United States , Redhage was awarded Nebraska Player of the Year award in 1998/99 after a stunning senior year withLincoln East High School . After high school, Redhage began studying and playing forArizona State University . New Zealand Breakers . According to Channel Ten News, Redhage's first application to become a
naturalized Australian citizen was rejected by the Australian government. In early March 2007, Shawn's second application was accepted. This begins a two year waiting period, where at the end of the two years he will become a naturalized citizen of Australia.He was naturalized on the

On Friday 28 December, 2007, Redhage and his wife Gretchen gave birth to a baby girl, their first child.
