Geography
Nashua is located at 48°8.1′N 106°21.6′W / 48.135°N 106.36°W (48.1344, -106.3598)[1].
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.7 square miles (1.8 km2), all of it land.
Demographics
As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 325 people, 166 households, and 92 families residing in the town. The population density was 489.1 people per square mile (190.1/km²). There were 195 housing units at an average density of 293.4 per square mile (114.1/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 92.00% White, 0.31% African American, 5.54% Native American, 0.31% Asian, 0.31% from other races, and 1.54% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.15% of the population.
There were 166 households out of which 15.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.0% were married couples living together, 1.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 44.0% were non-families. 41.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 21.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 1.96 and the average family size was 2.61.
In the town the population was spread out with 14.8% under the age of 18, 6.2% from 18 to 24, 21.2% from 25 to 44, 32.0% from 45 to 64, and 25.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 49 years. For every 100 females there were 127.3 males. High School ans Student Exchanges
Despite the small size of the town's high school and the small amount of students, Basketball, Track and field, Volleyball, Cheerleading as well as American Football, enabled by a cooperation with a neighboring high school, are sports accessible to all students. The school also offers the possibility to join the Art or the FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) Club. Astonishing is the high quantity of foreign exchange students who, generally for a year, attend high school in Nashua. In the past years almost every year there has been at least one exchange student, most of them coming from Germany, who has been living in the town of Nashua or attended its high school.
