History
The land for the park was acquired in 1948, and a dam at the west side of the lake was completed in 1950 [Ohio Department of Natural Resources, http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/parks/stonelck/tabid/789/Default.aspx] , which created the lake.
Since the park's inception, there was a wastewater leak that damaged the ecology of the lake [Ingram, Timothy I.Clermont County General Health District. http://www.thefreelibrary.com/A+preliminary+investigation+into+the+bacteriological+water+quality...-a013771820] . The lake was dredged in the early-mid 1990s to restore the contamination levels of the lake to levels that are safe for wildlife and swimming.
