Mix FM Lebanon (104.4 - 104.7 FM) is a radio station in Lebanon, broadcasting on the FM band at the frequencies of 104.4 to 104.7. This station is licenced to broadcast all over Lebanon.

History

Mix FM started broadcasting in Lebanon on the 23rd of February 1996 using advanced transmission equipment and digital processors in order to give its listeners the highest possible quality sound. Mix FM plays hit music, with a line-up of the top national and international presenters, DJ’s and shows. Broadcasting live 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, Mix FM is the most popular radio station in Lebanon.


Mix FM’s mission is to provide consistently high-quality programming in order to offer a solid foundation for building relationships with both listeners and advertisers.


On 23 May 2006, Mix FM took part in the International Radio Conference (IRC) Radio Cast Awards. Out of 50 candidates Mix FM came in 1st place winning the most prestigious title in the field of radio broadcasting: The Middle East’s Best Radio Station Award.


Events

Mix FM is the only radio station that creates and manages its own events from inception to execution including booking, marketing, production, staging and execution. Notorious for the most creative concepts and ambitions designs, they have brought several international artists, DJ’s and singers over the past 15 years to Lebanon helping to place Beirut as one of the party capitals of the world.

Since 1996 Mix FM has a repertoire built of artists, DJ's and singers that they have brought to Lebanon for events and concerts. Among the list of DJ events are Armin Van Buuren, David Guetta, Sasha, John Digweed, Paul Van Dyk, James Zabiela, Hernan Cattaneo, Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Timo Maas and more. Mix FM also held several concert events with international artists such as The Pussycat Dolls, 50 Cent, Kelly Rowland, Kelis, Shaggy, Sean Kingston, Pitbull, Emma Hewitt and more. One of the most notorious concert events held was a mega concert called “Dance in the City” hosted by Pamela Anderson with over 13 international artists.


Mix FM “NYE-1”, a pre New Year’s Eve exclusive event with Armin Van Buuren was a record breaking event that featured acrobats, dancers, fire breathers, aerialists, LED screens, light engineers and VJ’s from Europe, pyrotechnics, water jets and more, making it the first event of its kind. Mix FM pulled off the event of 2010 in July; David Guetta’s "F*** Me I’m Famous" which was an event with thousands of people in attendance, a massive fireworks display, dancers, robots, international VJ’s and light engineers and overall an event that will go down in Lebanon’s record books.Mix FM also caters to smaller events such as the DJ events at B018 where they have hosted DJ’s such as John Digweed, Danny Howells, Marco Carola, Lee Burridge, Nick Warren and more.


Throughout its current lifespan, Mix FM has worked with the biggest agencies throughout Europe, USA, and the Middle East such as Armada, David Lewis Productions, Bedrock, Safehouse, Clonk, William Morris Agency, Live Nation, Done Events, International Creative Management (ICM), Home Studio Service, Mn2s to name a few.


Mix FM has two weekly residency nights; the infamous trademark 80’s Night at B018 which is the most successful themed party in Lebanon this being the 4th year running, throughout winter and summer making it a record breaking night. The second is at Maison Blanche with the RnB Nights that have captured people midweek for an unforgettable getaway. Both nights are fully booked every week with the trendiest and classiest partygoers in Lebanon.

Armin Only - Mirage with Mix FM on January 22 2011 in Beirut

On February 22, 2011, Mix FM brought Armin Van Buuren to Lebanon on his Armin Only - Mirage Tour of 2011. Exclusive to the Middle East, Beirut was chosen among less than 15 countries worldwide to host this concert event. Featuring the worlds #1 DJ Armin Van Buuren along with dancers, live band, orchestra, performers and more, this event was the first of its kind in the Middle East. The event witnessed the regions largest ever LED moving structure ever, with lighting, staging and sound surpassing all other records. Alongside Armin Van Buuren performed international artists like Nadia Ali, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Christian Burns and Eller Van Buuren. With a record breaking attendance, Mix FM has set a high standard to other event organizing companies in the region.

Shakira Live in Lebanon on May 26th 2011

Tens of thousands of Lebanese people of all ages gathered at the Mediterranean sea front to witness a night of extraordinary proportions. A night that was hoped for and dreamt of for years, finally Mix FM and Mix Productions have made it come true. International popstar and icon Shakira finally set foot on stage in her own country in a night that was unimaginable until now. Underneath the stars and along the glittering lights of the Beirut coast, last night Shakira produced an incredible concert at the New Waterfront in Downtown as part of the Sun Comes Out Tour covering her latest two albums Sale El Sol and She Wolf. The production of this event was huge beyond proportion as compared to the history of concerts Lebanon has seen. From the first day of sales this event was expected to be a success but even that was exceeded and Shakira’s concert has opened up Lebanon to the world of international pop artist superstars, being placed on the map in most positive way possible. As she sang Waka, Waka the whole audience joined in singing along giving everyone that bittersweet feeling of the end of a remarkable night.

The Big Mix Drive with Simon Ramsden

The Big Mix Drive is a stimulating afternoon show guaranteed to make your drive home fun after a busy day at the office, school or university. This show features news on the latest from Hollywood, music, interesting surveys and useful information, dedications and news on Mix FM events and competitions and also offers prizes and tickets to events happening all over the region. And presenting this show is none other than the biggest English name in Lebanon’s radio history, Simon Ramsden. Simon Ramsden has worked on the biggest radio stations in the UK and Middle East and is bound to charm all listeners with his charisma, positive attitude and friendly personality. This show airs from 5pm-7pm (Beirut time) weekdays.


The Breakfast Express with Scott Phillips

The Breakfast Express began airing in January 2009 on Mix FM. The Breakfast Express is an entertaining morning show catering to listeners on their way to work, school or university and is presented by Scott Phillips coming all the way from the UK. With the latest in showbiz news, Scott plays all the best hits in Pop, 80’s and RnB every day. The show also features news reports and the latest in Hollywood gossip. This show airs from 7am-10am (Beirut time) weekdays.


Nemr Abou Nassar and The Comedy Revolution

Hosted by Lebanon’s favorite comedian Nemr, the Comedy Revolution is the first ever comedy radio show in Lebanon and has generated huge success with thousands of listeners tuning in weekly. This show features callers, phone taps and the top news and entertainment. Every Tuesday and Thursday this funny and uplifting show pioneers a new kind of humor, combining Nemr’s infamous phone taps and hilarious comical segments to leave listeners in a state of side-splitting laughter. This show airs from 7pm-8pm (Beirut time) weekdays.


Using state of the art digital studios, Mix Productions also supplies commercial spots and song jingles, provides local and international voice talent from the UK and the US and effects libraries, and produces customized music tracks.
