Springbrook is a city in Jackson County, Iowa, United States. The population was 182 at the 2000 census.

Geography

Springbrook is located at coor dms|42|9|43|N|90|28|48|W|city (42.161997, -90.479878)GR|1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.6 square miles (1.5 km²), all of it land.

Demographics

As of the censusGR|2 of 2000, there were 182 people, 60 households, and 51 families residing in the city. The population density was 319.2 people per square mile (123.3/km²). There were 62 housing units at an average density of 108.7/sq mi (42.0/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 100.00% [White (U.S. Census)|WhitThere were 60 households out of which 41.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 75.0% were married couples living together, 5.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 15.0% were non-families. 13.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.03 and the average family size was 3.25.

In the city the population was spread out with 29.7% under the age of 18, 7.7% from 18 to 24, 26.4% from 25 to 44, 19.8% from 45 to 64, and 16.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 100.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.0 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $50,750, and the median income for a family was $51,667. Males had a median income of $26,429 versus $17,813 for females. The per capita income for the city was $16,814. None of the population or families were below the poverty line.
