Iowa Highway 25 begins at
Iowa Highway 2 on the border between Taylor and Ringgold Counties south of Clearfield. It continues north on the county border through Clearfield and also forms the border between Adams and Union Counties. Near Kent, Iowa 25 intersectsU.S. Highway 34 and they overlap going northeast into Creston. At Creston, the overlap ends and Iowa 25 goes north, then west out of Creston. It then turns north until Orient. It then turns west at Orient, then turns north to proceed to Greenfield, where it intersectsIowa Highway 92 . The highway continues north from Greenfield and intersectsInterstate 80 andU.S. Highway 6 between Casey and Menlo. After a brief turn west towards Casey, it then turns north and intersectsIowa Highway 44 at Guthrie Center. It goes north out of Guthrie Center and turns west withIowa Highway 141 into Bayard. It turns north at Bayard and continues north through Scranton, after which the highway ends atU.S. Highway 30 .History
Highway 25 originally extended only from Creston to Scranton. By 1937 it had been extended all the way to the Missouri state line south of Blockton, but the highway was truncated back to that community in 1980, then the segment from Highway 2 to Blockton was decommissioned in 1981.Iowahighwaysref|lowrg=20|hirng=29|num=25|m_iter=yes|access_date=26 October 2006]
