(Ridgway, 1885)The Yucatan Woodpecker (Melanerpes pygmaeus) is a species of bird in the Picidae family. It is found in Belize, Honduras, and Mexico, and ranges over the entire Yucatán Peninsula. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests, subtropical or tropical dry shrubland, and heavily degraded former forest.
