(Latham, 1801)The Jacky Winter (Microeca fascinans) is a species of bird in the Petroicidae family. It is found in Australia and Papua New Guinea. It is also colloquially known as Postsitter for its habit of sitting on posts in paddocks and farms.[1] It was previously known as the Brown Flycatcher but is not closely related to true flycatchers.
Its natural habitats are temperate forests, subtropical or tropical dry forests, and Mediterranean-type shrubby vegetation.
