(Fowler, 1913)Synonyms Chorophilus olivaceus Andersson, 1945 The Andean Marsupial Tree Frog or Rana Marsupial Andina (Gastrotheca riobambae) is a species of frog in the Hemiphractidae family. It is endemic to Ecuador. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist montanes, subtropical or tropical high-altitude shrubland, subtropical or tropical high-altitude grassland, rivers, intermittent rivers, freshwater marshes, intermittent freshwater marches, arable land, rural gardens, urban areas, heavily degraded former forest, ponds, and canals and ditches. It is threatened by habitat loss.
It is used in scientific experiments and it is kept as a pet.
