As of the
census GR|2 of 2000, there were 3,222 people, 1,086 households, and 813 families residing in the CDP. Thepopulation density was 503.7/km² (1,306.5/mi²). There were 1,284 housing units at an average density of 200.7/km² (520.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 66.82% White, 5.37% African American, 2.23% Native American, 0.84% Asian, 0.68% Pacific Islander, 18.13% from other races, and 5.93% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 37.27% of the population.There were 1,086 households out of which 39.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.6% were married couples living together, 14.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.1% were non-families. 20.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.97 and the average family size was 3.42.
In the CDP the population was spread out with 33.6% under the age of 18, 9.0% from 18 to 24, 28.7% from 25 to 44, 19.7% from 45 to 64, and 9.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 31 years. For every 100 females there were 100.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.3 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP was $37,845, and the median income for a family was $39,697. Males had a median income of $35,054 versus $23,919 for females. The
